Amsterdam, Netherlands (2nd May, 2017) Snorkel is introducing two new narrow compact rough terrain scissor lifts into its product line at APEX 2017.
Snorkel is expanding its current family of compact rough terrain scissor lifts, with two new narrow models, which are ideal for working in confined spaces with rough terrain or uneven ground conditions. The Snorkel S2255RT, which will make its European debut at the show, delivers a maximum working height of 8.5m (27-ft. 3-in.) and a lift capacity of 420kg (925 lbs.) from a chassis that is just 1.45m (4-ft. 9-in.) wide. In the same narrow width, Snorkel also now offers the S2755RT, a larger version with a maximum working height of 10.4m (33-ft. 6-in.) and a lift capacity of 300kg (661 lbs.).
The two new lifts share many features with Snorkel’s existing line compact rough terrain scissor lifts, the Snorkel S2770RT, Snorkel S3370RT and Snorkel S3970RT, including a large roll-out deck extension, non-marking tyres, automatic self-levelling stabilizers, an oscillating axle and powerful four wheel drive as standard. All five models are sold with a Kubota diesel engine, but are also available with bi-energy power source, which provides the option to run the lift on either the diesel engine, or on electric 24V battery power. This gives flexibility on the jobsite, permitting the same lift to be used outdoors on rough terrain on diesel power, and indoors with zero emissions on battery power.
The Snorkel S2255RT and S2755RT compact scissor lifts are a proven product that has been in production in Snorkel’s facility in Levin, New Zealand for many years, predominantly sold to customers in Australasia. With their narrow width, yet high lift capacity and rough terrain performance, these lifts are gaining popularity in Europe, particularly as their low overall weight means that they can be easily towed by light commercial vehicles in many countries. The Snorkel S2255RT weighs just 2,360kg (5,202 lbs.) and the Snorkel S2755RT weighs 2,580kg (5,687 lbs.).
Matthew Elvin, Snorkel CEO, said, “These narrow compact rough terrain scissor lifts are extremely popular with contractors and rental companies alike in Australia and New Zealand. They provide a heavy-duty yet portable solution to working at height on challenging terrains in confined spaces and narrow aisles. We are seeing increasing interest in these models from our customers in EMEA, and look forward to further evaluating this interest at APEX 2017, which is the first time that we have displayed these models outside of Australasia.”
